Starting in March!

The Liberated Cook Book Club

The Liberated Cook  Book Club is a community for cooking enthusiasts to explore whole-food, plant-forward recipes and their health benefits in a fun environment.

Whether you have been cooking for years or just getting started, you will build confidence in the kitchen by trying new recipes, using unique ingredients, and practicing techniques. My goal is to teach, support, and guide you in experiencing food and cooking through a holistic and health supportive lens.

We will share our experience and the wins, even the imperfect small ones, during weekly group calls bringing it all full circle. I will lead these calls sharing my knowledge and insight from my time as an integrative health/nutrition coach and plant-based chef.

Over the course of 6 weeks, we will explore an intentionally chosen cookbook together from with I will give "assignments" and additional information. There will be a Zoom call each week focusing on education, Q&A, and discussion.

"I love the cooking topic and Haleigh is very knowledgable. I very much enjoyed the camaraderie that Haleigh brought out in everyone. It seemed to me that she didn't have to prompt people to participate and ask questions. Discussions were open and fun, and people actually got involved and made recipes and shared photos and videos of their creations. Then we discussed wins and loses in the kitchen, and everyone seemed to agree that all in all, they enjoyed the recipes and learned a lot as well. I would definitely recommend joining any book club of Haleigh's! She makes it fun and inspirational, and you can learn a lot too!"

The idea of living from a place of liberation first surfaced for me during a season of searching - when I was trying to make sense of chronic back pain, ongoing gut issues, and severe anxiety. Like so many of us, I found myself caught in the self-help and healing loop, always looking for the next answer. At some point, it became clear that beneath all of that searching was a single desire: to feel free - to live unburdened in my body and my mind.

When it comes to food, I don’t believe freedom comes from another diet, another philosophy, or another perfectly curated meal plan. I believe liberation happens through real understanding, small but intentional shifts, and the willingness to release perfection. When we begin to understand the why behind our choices - and our experiences - we create space for lasting change rather than temporary control.

Cooking became an unexpected doorway into this freedom for me. What began as a practical skill in adulthood quickly turned into a genuine passion, reigniting a childlike curiosity I hadn’t felt in years. Even then, while juggling school and long workdays, I carried quiet fears about my body’s resilience - fears shaped in part by a traumatic foot injury that lingered far beyond its expected healing window. Yet it was through doing, trusting, and slowly letting go of fear that I learned to feel at home in my body again. Liberation, I discovered, was as much physical as it was mental.

That shift began when I stopped endlessly seeking answers outside of myself and started integrating what I already knew. Peace and momentum followed when I chose action over rumination, presence over perfection.

The Liberated Cook embodies this way of moving through both life and the kitchen. A liberated cook doesn’t allow overthinking or perfectionism to stand in the way of curiosity, nourishment, or progress. Whether it’s trying a new recipe or supporting their health through food, they move forward with trust, flexibility, and intention.
