The Liberated Cook Book Club
The Liberated Cook Book Club is a community for cooking enthusiasts to explore whole-food, plant-forward recipes and their health benefits in a fun environment.
Whether you have been cooking for years or just getting started, you will build confidence in the kitchen by trying new recipes, using unique ingredients, and practicing techniques. My goal is to teach, support, and guide you in experiencing food and cooking through a holistic and health supportive lens.
We will share our experience and the wins, even the imperfect small ones, during weekly group calls bringing it all full circle. I will lead these calls sharing my knowledge and insight from my time as an integrative health/nutrition coach and plant-based chef.
Over the course of 6 weeks, we will explore an intentionally chosen cookbook together from with I will give "assignments" and additional information. There will be a Zoom call each week focusing on education, Q&A, and discussion.

What is
The Liberated Cook?
The word liberated first came to me when I was in the middle of learning about the real source of my own back pain, when I felt I was in a self-help/healing spiral. It hit me that at the core of searching for all these answers was the need, the desire to be free - to be liberated.

When it comes to food I don’t believe another diet, another eating philosophy, another meal plan, etc is the answer. I believe it is through real knowledge and the release of perfection that we are liberated. I believe it is in understanding the “why” that we are able to start the journey to sustained freedom.
Going to culinary school and learning to cook for me was one of the first childlike interests I had as an adult, something that truly intrigued and motivated me in a pure way. When I was in school and working long days with long hours, I was worried about how my back would hold up. I had also experienced a traumatic foot injury lasting over a year that was only meant to be a 6-8 week healing timeframe. But it was in the taking action, the doing, the trusting, that I was able to move through the anxiety and feel liberated in my body again. I also had to let go of the perfectionist mindset. So what if my back hurt a bit one day or my foot was sore. I’m alive aren’t I?

This process started with the searching, the craving for understanding. But, the liberated state of mind only came after I chose action and acceptance of imperfection. It came when I put away the seeking glasses, integrated, and as a result released the fear bit by bit.

The Liberated Cook is someone who embraces this mindset and applies it to their experience in the kitchen.
